How old is too old to go after your dreams?

Since her 20s Sharon Simmons has wanted to be a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. Now, at 55, Simmons is finally going after her dreams.

Simmons said: “I thought about this when I was about 22 years old. I was a single mom, and I wanted to do it.”

The 55-year-old cheerleader planned on auditioning for the squad in her twenties, but money, time, and raising a family delayed her dream for a few decades. But last weekend Simmons joined hundreds of others over the weekend to audition for the squad at Cowboys Stadium.

Fox reports that Simmons has won several fitness competitions in her day and had a successful career as a fitness model. She also wrote a book about staying fit,”Triple F: Fifty, Fit, and Fabulous,” and runs the website FitnessAnyAge.com.

Simmons said: “I don’t see a number… If I do, it’s just a number. It’s not that I can’t keep up with [younger women] in the physical part of the training.”

Here’s a video with Simmons’ audition. Do you think she will reach her dream?
